Cast and crew members of the Friday the 13th films gathered in Los Angeles last night to celebrate the release of Parts IV-VI on DVD in all-new Deluxe Edition DVDs. Barney Cohen, screenwriter of The Final Chapter, Shavar Ross, "Reggie" from Part V, Camilla and Carey More, "Terri" and "Tina" from The Final Chapter, composer Harry Manfredini, David Kagen, "Sheriff Garris" from Part VI, and Larry Zerner, "Shelly" from Part 3, showed up at The Bungalow Club for a screening of DVD special features and talk to select members of the press.

Following a cocktail reception where fans and press met with members of the cast and crew, DVD producer Dan Farrands formally greeted attendees and introduced the screening of bonus materials, the centerpiece of which is a multi-part featurette titled "The Crystal Lake Massacres Revisited."

Featuring various high-profile members of the genre-journalism community as well as prominent horror filmmakers in fictional roles, "Massacres" offers a tongue-in-cheek retrospective of the events in Parts IV-VI, and while it provides little new content or information about the films itself, its obvious fan-celebration tone offers a fun and funny look at what happened through the eyes of Crystal Lake "citizens."

Additionally, the DVDs offer the best video and audio presentation of the films to date, and include a wealth of fascinating bonus features, although the most exciting might be "Jimmy's Dead F*ck Dance Moves," a compilation of takes of cast and crew members trying not to laugh at Crispin Glover doing his bizarre mating dance in The Final Chapter. All three films are available from Paramount Home Entertainment on June 16, 2009, the same day as the release of the DVD and Blu-ray for the 2009 Friday the 13th franchise reboot.
