Apparently Peter Jackson had to leave some really great stuff on the cutting room floor when he trimmed King Kong down to its final, streamlined (ahem) running time. That's the word from France, anyway. According to a French DVD site, Universal France recently confirmed to them that there's a giant, consumer-raping fan-thrilling Kong box set coming out this fall - and part of that set will be a new, extended edit of the film. And, not to worry, American fans: though nothing is yet official, rumors strongly suggest that a King Kong: Extended Edition will be coming out here, as well. Yippee!

It's so great of Jackson to make multiple editions of all of his movies! Of course, in order to afford each new offering, you have to stop eating for a few days - but what's a little hunger in exchange for even more hobbits and apes?
