She's best known for her many plays and books of essays, but writer Wasserstein also wrote the screenplay for the
1998 Jennifer Aniston/Paul Rudd romantic comedy The Object Of My Affection and appeared in the Michael J. Fox
comedy Life With Mikey. Her plays were also turned into the movies An American Daughter and The
Heidi Chronicles. In fact, she won a Pulitzer and a Tony for The Heidi Chronicles.
Wasserstein died of lymphoma today at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
