Terrence Howard, the star of pimp-makes-good, long-shot Oscar hopeful Hustle & Flow, is in negotiations to move up in the world - way, way up. Word comes this morning that New Line would like Howard to star in Crusaders, "the true story of [future Supreme Court justice] Thurgood Marshall as seen through the eyes of Jack
Greenberg, a dedicated young lawyer who became the only white member of
the NAACP Legal Defense Fund." Interestingly, Howard would play the white lawyer. No, that's a lie: it's hoped that he'll take the Marshall role. If I'm not mistaken, Crusaders will be Marshall's first appearance (at least as a central figure) on the big screen - let's hope that the movie will try for some historical accuracy and not focus just on the Society Defying Cross-Racial Bond.
