Bruce Lee statue in BosniaI'm not sure which locale started it: Hong Kong or the southern Bosnian city of Mostar. Both cities commissioned statues of the legendary Bruce Lee ... and scheduled the unveiling ceremonies for these statues within a day of each other, around what would have been the martial-arts star's 65th birthday last week. Hong Kong was Lee's hometown, so a commemorative statue on the city's Avenue of the Stars seems quite fitting. The statue in a Mostar city park was created to symbolize friendship and unity between ethnicities in Bosnia. Hours after the Bosnian image of Lee appeared in public, however, it was vandalized: the statue's nunchucks were damaged (no, that's not a euphemism) and broken bottles were found all around the memorial. Was this a political statement or just late-night drunken antics? No one knows except maybe Bruce, and he's not telling.
