As filming on The Da Vinci Code gets underway in England, a cathedral in Lincolnshire will have its bell silenced for the first time since World War II. Great Tom, the bell of the Lincoln Cathedral, will not ring as the Cathedral is closed off to visitors this week while star Tom Hanks records scenes in the Cathedral (whose interior is being changed to represent Westminster). I have to say this interruption in bell ringing doesn't bode well with my sometimes obsessive compulsive nature. I mean, the bell has been sounding for that long and they have to silence it? Does that mean we have to start counting all over once it begins tolling again?
