The article linked to below seems simple enough: Elijah Wood wanted to do smaller roles after appearing in the sprawling Lord of the Rings trilogy. It's why he chose to play a soccer player in the small British drama Hooligans. What threw me off, however, was not Wood's decision to back down from the "big blockbuster actor" spotlight, but finding out that his character in Lord of the Rings was not actually named Frodo Baggins, but rather "Frpdp Baggoms," at least according to whoever wrote the piece. Actually, I plan on naming my first child Frpdp (pronounced "FRIP-DIP"). I think he (or she) would be honored to have the namesake of such a famous literary and cinematic character.
