Wow ... the Sundance success of Grizzly Man must have bought Werner Herzog a ton of new clout. He's remaking his 1977 documentary, Little Dieter Needs to Fly, as an independent feature, and he's somehow convinced Christian Bale and Steve Zahn, two actors most recently seen in big summer films, to star. Bale will play the title character, a U.S. fighter pilot who was shot down over Laos during Vietnam; Zahn will play the fellow POW with whom he plans an escape. Shooting begins in Thailand next month - right around the time Grizzly Man hits US theaters.Categories
