Blockbuster Video, the company everyone loves to hate, is reportedly testing a movie download service. The catch is that, instead of the way everyone has always envisioned it (downloading the movie over your personal PC) the proposed system will utilize kiosks and memory sticks. People will select the movie they want at an in-store kiosk and download the movie to something resembling to essentially an external hard-drive. That can then be plugged into any PC or other video device. This is the way to go since people are already accustomed to being able to switch the DVD they rented from their home player to their laptop and back. It doesn't take away the mobility of viewing that PC-exclusive downloading does. This is actually something similar to what Mark Cuban proposed almost a year ago.
