David LynchNo, it's not our list, it's from The Guardian. They pick the 40 best directors working today. Some of the choices are obvious (Martin Scorcese #2, Steven Soderbergh #5, ), some baffling (David Fincher #39 after directing Panic Room and Alien 3?), some confusing to American eyes (Lukas Moodysson at #11, Bela Tarr at #13). No Spielberg on the list, but that's to be expected from a non-American list. But no Coppola? I guess that's what these lists are for, to promote arguments discussion.
