I'm not going to claim I've seen the new trailer for the movie remake of the television show Dukes of Hazzard, because I haven't. But I have read the review of the trailer over at Aintitcool. According to the review, it starts out with a voice over calling it "the movie event of the summer" - which I tend to disagree with off the bat, but lets continue. "And it can only be described with one word. YeeeeHAW!" Yes, it's that type of movie.
What type of movie you may ask?
The type of movie I'm going to avoid at all costs this summer. It gets worse. A customer says to Daisy Duke, played by Jessica Simpson, "I noticed your initials were Double D" and laughs to a friend. It's that type of movie.
We get a hard rock version of the television theme song, as could be expected. Seann William Scott can be funny, but he's had his share of bad movies. Johnny Knoxville is just a jackass - pun intended. The're scene where they pretend to be Japanese doctors. It's THAT type of movie.
Simpson tries to seduce a deputy to get information about Boss Hogg, who is played by Burt Reynolds. Reynolds is probably the only actor holding this thing together. Don't get me started on Simpson ... I'm not reading a book by it's cover, I've seen her tv show and know her pages are blank.
AICN reviewed the trailer that is being testing at various movie marketing surveys across the country. So theoretically, the trailer may change before it hits the theaters ... but probably not.
