Last week we reported that Universal announced a Jaws: 30th Anniversary Edition DVD for June 14th. At the time no bonus materials were yet announced for the second disc. Well, guess what was released yesterday on DigitalBits? Bonus features are set to include a never-before-available interview with Steven Spielberg during the production of Jaws, a feature-length documentary (probably the full version of Laurent Bouzereau's original The Making of Jaws which was on the laser disc), deleted scenes, archives and more. As we reported last week, the set will also include a "commemorative photo journal". Hopefully Universal learns their lesson with the first dvd release and does in fact put the full documentary on this one - if not, the fanboys'll be mad.- Criterion has announced Akira Kurosawa's Ran on DVD in late 2005. The special edition will include a new exclusive interview recently conducted in Tokyo with the film's star, Tatsuya Nakadai.
- On June 21st, Buena Vista Home Entertainment is releasing Cursed (MSRP $29.95) on DVD in a PG-13 rated theatrical cut and the unrated director's cut complete with commentary by director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson (Who hasn't written a good film since Scream 1). DVDFile reports that the release will include several featurettes: Behind The Fangs: the Making of Cursed; The Cursed Effects; and, Becoming a Werewolf (which focuses on Rick Baker).
- Paramount Home Entertainment will release Coach Carter on June 21st (MSRP $29.98) in both anamorphic widescreen and full screen versions with Dolby Digital 5.1. Bonus features should include couple of featurettes and couple deleted scenes.
